Before any new placement is made, we inspect the home and interview the family to ensure they meet our strict criteria. Homestay families are vetted by the New Zealand Police and must sign a contract, agreeing to our specific rules and standards.
Once approved, homestay families are provided with training and ongoing support. A friendly ACG Education assessor visits all international students under the age of 18 at least three times a year.
All payments are made directly to the homestay families from the ACG Education Student Trust.
While staying in one of our standard homestays, students will have their own room with a bed, desk, heating and internet. They’ll have reasonable use of home facilities such as TV and telephone, and will be provided with breakfast and dinner on weekdays, plus lunch on weekends and holidays. Laundry is also included.
All homestays are located within a reasonable distance to the school. Your child’s homestay family will ensure they have safe and reliable transport to school.
