Art teacher celebrates 15 years at school

Art teacher Debbie McLachlan has just celebrated her 15-year work anniversary at ACG Senior College. This year, Ms McLachlan’s student Yihan Wang was awarded Top in Country in Cambridge IGCSE Art & Design.

This is the 14th time one of her students has achieved the highest mark in New Zealand.

What’s been the highlight of your time at the school?

The Art exhibitions. Giving students the opportunity to put up their art work in a gallery. Being a part of the excitement as they see their work displayed in a professional exhibition space.

What’s your favourite thing about ACG Senior College?

I enjoy the students. They’re lively, creative, passionate and enthusiastic about the arts. There is never a dull moment in the art department.
