Valedictorian and Leadership Award recipient Lara Cable spoke at the event.

“I am proud to say that ACG Senior College is a school where individuality is encouraged and diversity is embraced. Our teachers actively encourage us to form our own opinions and stand up for what we believe in.

Senior College is also a school where we are given independence… When you leave here tonight and commence the next stage of your lives, we are bound to stumble and be faced with difficult decisions.

We can make choices that will make other people happy, and follow the status quo, or we can stay true to ourselves. We can look back at what we have learnt at Senior, and use it as fuel to follow our own path.

While you will face people who will try to limit your endeavours, know that you are never too young or too old to be an ambassador for the world you want to live in.”

Principal Tracey Dykstra said this year’s graduates had embraced the spirit of the school and taken the opportunity to develop their independence and excelled academically.

“At Senior College we believe that young people given the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning grow in independence and prepare fully for their futures,” she said.
